Practical PDF guide
How to Extract Pages from a PDF
Extracting pages creates a smaller PDF containing the selected content while leaving the original file available. It is useful for sharing a chapter or separating an appendix from a larger document.
When this is useful
Choose extraction when you need a new file containing selected pages. Use page deletion when the goal is to keep most of a document and remove only a few pages.
Steps
Check the PDF's page count and note the page numbers you intend to keep.
Open Extract PDF Pages and enter pages as numbers or ranges, such as 2,5-7.
Check the selection for omissions, duplicates, and overlapping ranges.
Download the extracted PDF and compare its contents with the intended source pages.
Important considerations
- Page references start at 1 and must stay within the source. Extracted pages follow their original order.
- The page operation is limited to 50-page PDFs and cannot read every damaged or encrypted file.
If something goes wrong
If a range is rejected, remove spaces or punctuation not part of a number/range and confirm the end page is not below the start page.
