Troubleshooting PDF tools
Use these checks to identify whether a problem is caused by the selected tool, the file itself, its protection, or a temporary processing limit.
The PDF upload does not start
Check that the selected file finishes copying from removable or cloud-backed storage, that your browser allows the file picker, and that the file is within the displayed upload limit. Try selecting it again rather than reusing a partially uploaded request.
The file type is not supported
Choose the tool designed for that format and confirm the extension and file content match. Renaming a file does not convert it; an image named .pdf is still not a PDF. See the accepted formats before retrying.
The PDF cannot be processed
Open the source in a PDF reader to check that it is complete and readable. A damaged file, unsupported structures, too many pages, or a partially downloaded file may fail validation. Export a fresh PDF from the source application and retry.
The PDF is password-protected
Use only documents you are authorized to access. Provide the correct password through the appropriate tool; unknown passwords are not guessed or cracked. Some operations may not support encrypted input even when a reader can open it.
Processing takes too long or fails on a large file
Check the upload-size and page limits on the tool. Reduce image dimensions, export fewer pages, or split a large source into smaller batches. Complex documents can take longer even when their file size is modest.
The output looks different than expected
Compare the saved output against the original, checking page order, rotation, crop bounds, fonts, line wraps, tables, and image clarity. PDF-to-Word reflows selectable text; PDF-to-Excel estimates table structure; neither promises the original page design.
A page is rotated, missing, or in the wrong order
Confirm page numbers using the source document, then use a focused page operation and inspect the output. Page selections are one-based; ranges use forms such as 1,3-5. Keep the original file until the revised sequence is checked.
The download did not complete
Check the browser's download list and available disk space. Retry only after confirming the previous transfer has ended; if the connection closed during the response, the temporary output may have been cleaned up and processing may need to be run again.
Compression did not reduce the PDF
Compression rewrites the PDF structure but does not downsample or re-encode embedded images. Already compact files may not become smaller; the tool returns an explanatory error rather than a larger replacement.
Removing a watermark did not change the page
The watermark removal tool removes matching text drawn as PDF text. It cannot remove an image-based or flattened watermark, and it requires the exact watermark text. If the text is part of the page image, edit the source document instead.
