How to Merge PDF Files
A merged PDF is useful when related reports, forms, or scanned sections need to travel as one document. Decide the reading order before uploading because the merge follows the order of the selected files.
When this is useful
Use merging to assemble a packet from separate PDF sources. If you need to insert only part of another document, first extract those pages, then merge the result.
Steps
Rename or sort the source files so their intended sequence is clear before selection.
Open Merge PDF and choose at least two valid PDFs. The tool accepts up to 20 files.
Review the selected-file list and move documents into the order readers should see them.
Start the merge, download the result, and check the first, middle, and final pages for sequence and completeness.
Important considerations
- The combined document is limited to 50 pages. A file that is encrypted, unreadable, or not actually a PDF can prevent the merge.
- Keep the originals. A merged output does not replace the source documents or prove that their contents are correct.
If something goes wrong
If one document is rejected, open it in a PDF reader and export a fresh copy. Check each source's page count; if the combined total exceeds the limit, create smaller groups.
