How to Split a PDF
Splitting is useful when you need to share a chapter, extract an appendix, or create a smaller working copy without sending every page in the source.
When this is useful
Use a page selection when the desired pages are known. If the goal is to remove pages while keeping the rest, choose Delete PDF Pages instead.
Steps
Open the PDF in a reader and note the page numbers you want, using the document's actual page order.
Choose Split PDF and upload the source document.
Enter individual page numbers or ranges, for example 1,3-5. Avoid duplicate or overlapping selections.
Download the extracted PDF and verify that the first and last selected pages are correct.
Important considerations
- Page numbers are one-based and must be within the source document. The tool supports PDFs up to 50 pages.
- The output contains the selected pages in ascending source order, not an arbitrary custom order.
If something goes wrong
If the tool says a page is outside the range, confirm the total page count and correct any printed-page labels that differ from the PDF's page index.
